Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then found multiple other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

An important official commented the incident made him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
