Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
